Mentone in the Spring

Springtime is a great time to visit Mentone, Alabama. This quaint village, nestled atop the west brow of Lookout Mountain, is a beautiful place to visit as the mountain and the streams come to life after a long winter.

While you are visiting Mentone, be sure to drop in to see the good folks at The Graceful Giraffe and view the Plate Breaker Jewelry collection available there. Located in the center of town at 6061 Alabama Highway 117, they are open Friday - Sunday.

Art on the Lake This Weekend

Be sure to come out to Guntersville this weekend for Art on the Lake. Held at the Guntersville (Alabama) Recreation Center at 1503 Sunset Drive, this 53rd annual show will take place rain or shine. Admission is $2 for individuals age 13 or higher.

This is our first show in Guntersville, so we look forward to visiting with everyone there.

Plate Breaker Now in Chick's Interiors - Fort Payne

Plate Breaker Jewelry may now be purchased at Chick's Interiors in Fort Payne, Alabama. Chick's Interiors sells antiques, painted furniture, and other items for the home. Be sure to drop by their store at 216 Godfrey Avenue Northeast in Fort Payne.

Spring Show Season Starts March 8

The Spring craft show season begins for Plate Breaker Jewelry on March 8 at the Elk Valley Crafters Association Spring Show in Fayetteville, Tennessee. The show will be held indoors at the Lincoln County High School and will run from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.

The show will feature approximately 80 booths and there is no admission charge. Visit the show website here and be sure to drop by the Plate Breaker booth to say hello.

Northeast Alabama Craftmens' Association This Weekend!

Plate Breaker Jewelry will be at the Northeast Alabama Craftmen's Association Christmas Show this weekend, December 6-8. The show, located at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama, will have approximately 150 vendors and will operate during the following hours: 

• 9 am - 7 pm on Friday, December 6
• 9 am - 7 pm on Saturday, December 7
• noon - 5 pm on Sunday, December 8

This is our last show this year so be sure to come over and do some Christmas shopping.

ValleyFest in Huntsville on Saturday

Plate Breaker Jewelry will be at ValleyFest in Huntsville on Saturday from 11 am until 6:00 pm. ValleyFest takes place at Jones Farm Park in south Huntsville. Be sure to come out and see new Halloween and Christmas designs, as well as our new earring line. Hope to see you there.

It has been a busy and good August. For that reason, we currently have no items in the Etsy store. Once we get through Art in the Park in Scottsboro on Sunday we will try to build up additional inventory so that we can list more items in Etsy.

We do have a good inventory at The Graceful Giraffe and will have a good selection for Art in the Park on Sunday. If you will be in the area, please stop by to visit.

Visit Plate Breaker at Music on the Mountain Saturday

Plate Breaker Jewelry will be displaying at the Music on the Mountain Festival at Northeast Alabama Community College on Saturday, August 10. Be sure to come out to the Tom Bevill Lyceum to see new designs like this one.

Broken Plates Transformed

A few days ago we posted a photo of some of the pieces on which Trisha was working. At this point they had been shaped, smoothed and drilled. (Illustration A)

Now, these pieces have been transformed into pendants for necklaces and are ready to be worn. (Illustration B, enlarged below)
